What Have You Read Recently?

One of the many downsides to our current digital and highly politicized world is the reduction of book reading. This reality has been true for me recently and has (unfortunately) increased in the last year. The sheer speed at which news comes at us makes me have terminal FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out.)  I am reading news on “Facebook” and other social media and much of my reading is in short snippets. I hate that I don’t read as much as I used to.

During the Holidays I was lucky enough to spend time where the internet service was spotty at best and began to read BOOKS! I found myself enthralled again and more content. I didn’t miss anything (our current political climate is still a fiasco.) It took the lack of internet to get me to realize I needed to build in time to read. Since then I have continued reading and I am sleeping better and feel less annoyed and anxious. As an Educational Consultant I need to read about new trends in education and in the psychological treatment of at risk youth. I also need to nourish my soul by reading fiction and non-fiction. I encourage you to take the time to read, you will not miss a thing!

Here is a list of books I have recently finished. Check them out if you want to get off the social media rollercoaster.
